Question: IF they ask me for my federal financial aid award(fafsa letter) What should I submit????
a copy of schools financial aid packet??? or what?? PLEASE HELP!!!!Thanks!!!!!!!!

Answer: You woul have been mailed a letter with the breakdown of ...
You woul have been mailed a letter with the breakdown of what you were awarded. if you can't find it you can ask your school's financial aid department how to get a copy or go online to get one.

Answer: You should receive a letter from your schools financial aid ...
You should receive a letter from your schools financial aid office that says: "Award Letter" this is what they want. If you don't have one yet, they are likely missing info from you and are waiting on it. Call them and ask what else you need to do to get an award letter.

Question: Done with FAFSA, now what?
I sent application I got SAR, efc is 479......is school going to contact me or do I have to contact them? They should have info, I only listed one school code. Oh yeah and I plan to do WORK STUDY, but im not sure how it works is it a good idea? I checked SAR comments it says I can do pell grants work study etc etc

Answer: Work study is an excellent idea. Just be sure you realize ...
Work study is an excellent idea. Just be sure you realize you are responsible for finding your own job on campus. Some schools have a lot more students than they do jobs so you might want to start looking early. Often the job openings will be listed on their website. Contact your school and ask what additional paperwork you need to fill out. Schools always have additional paperwork besides the fafsa. Most of the time you can print the forms right off the schools website so you don't have to wait for something in the mail. BTW: with an EFC of 479 you will get a Pell grant (free money) of $4,281 (half in the fall and half in the spring) if you attend full time and all the info is correct on your SAR. You may even qualify for other federal grants and will likely even be offered a subsidized student loan if you want one. Congrats!!

Question: What to do now that I finish my fafsa??
ok... so i'm done with high school and about to go to college im not that wealthy at all ..everyone keeps telling me to not worry about paying for college that i'm gonna get a free ride..but I don't even know if i'm getting any help...i did fafsa and I don't know if I get anything...please help because I need to know how i'm gonna be paying for college...

Answer: Did you electronically sign your fafsa? If you did , you ...
Did you electronically sign your fafsa? If you did , you have nothing to worry about because I just graduated from hs and I didn't hear anything from the schools that I sent fafsa to until a couple of weeks later. If you are that worried, call your school's financial aid office. It's nothing to worry about!

Answer: If you have filled your Fafsa. You will get a reply from ...
If you have filled your Fafsa. You will get a reply from them letting your know if your application needs attention or not. If everything is okay with your application, you will get an email letting you know everything is complete. To see the estimated contribution from your family, i.e if you are under 24 or a dependent. Log on to Fafsa, Click on no. 3 -the one that says Fafsa follow up and check status of submitted fafsa(the first option in that box - No.3). You will need your SS, first and last name and Fafsa PIN to log in. When you log in, click on SAR comments in your account; there you will see what you will be getting....like grants, sub loans and/or unsub loans. But before you can get information on how much you will be getting for financial aid, you have to apply to a school and be admitted. Then Fafsa will contact your school with your estimated family contribution. Your school will use your EFC to determine your financial aid eligibility for other federal grants, loans, and work study, and possible funding from your state and school. Then your school will contact you with an award letter, listing what you qualify for. If you get both subsidized and unsub loans, I would advise you apply for subsidized loans because the govt. pays for the interest accrued while you are in school. But the other, you have to pay the interests yourself. However, to qualify for any loan, you have to be at least half time at the school, that is, at least 6 credits........ But if you are able to get grants, and all the free money for school....good for you! Best of luck!

Answer: At the end of your FAFSA it would have given you an EFC ...
At the end of your FAFSA it would have given you an EFC number. That number is roughly what the government think you can put towards your education for the 08-09 school year. If that number is above 4041, then you would not be eligible for federal grants. The lower the EFC, the more grant money you will be eligible for. I certainly would not count on getting a free ride. Things greatly depend on where you aer going to attend college. Even students with a zero EFC sometimes have to pay out of pocket or get student loans because they go to an expensive school. If you have a zero EFC and you are planning on going to a community college, then more than likely, you will not have to take out loans or paynd. ttea anything out of pocket. The ONLY person/people that can tell you what you are going to get or what you are eligible for is the financial aid office at the school you are going to attend.

Answer: If your FAFSA is submitted and sent to the school you are ...
If your FAFSA is submitted and sent to the school you are attending, they will look at it and determine what they can give you based on your EFC and other things. This can take awhile, but you should know at least by the middle of July. In the meantime, check and see if the college you will be attending has any scholarships you can apply for. If there are, do it!

Question: FAFSA??? lol help?
im only a junior in highschool I havent even taken the SAT yet but mom gave me a FAFSA form...what the hell is that and she said I should do it now...but I doubt that...when should I turn it in and wats it for..

Answer: Free Application for Federal Student Aid Its so you ...
Free Application for Federal Student Aid Its so you don't have to pay full price for schooling/books.

Answer: It's to help you receive financial aid for college. You ...
It's to help you receive financial aid for college. You actually wouldn't have to turn it in until the beginning of next year if your only a junior.

Answer: The FAFSA is for college financial aid. You can only submit ...
The FAFSA is for college financial aid. You can only submit it for the upcoming academic year. In other words, you need to do it in the winter/spring semester of your senior year (January if possible, but they'll also accept it later) if you plan to go to college that fall. It wouldn't do you any good to submit it now, unless you're planning to graduate early.

Answer: FAFSA is very important. It can lead to getting some free ...
FAFSA is very important. It can lead to getting some free money to attend college. It needs to be filled out your Senior high school year after January 1st.

Answer: FAFSA is a document that ruins lives of college students ...
FAFSA is a document that ruins lives of college students pretty much. It "determines" your financial "need" by using your parents income, even if you are paying for college by yourself. They then send the information to your college/colleges that you want to go to and then your schools figure out how much loan, grant, or scholarship money you will receive. You cannot turn it in though until January 1st and doing it online is alot easier because you need a pin number for yourself and your parents and instead of waiting around for the mail to get it to you, you get an email. Just start on it right away in January, and you will be good. You have until March 31 I think to turn it in for the priority deadline. Good luck, hopefully you will actually get enough money to pay for the rising cost of tuition, room and board, books, fees...

Answer: If you are only a junior it is too early for you to complete ...
If you are only a junior it is too early for you to complete the FAFSA so tell your mother it is pointless to fill it out so early. You need to take the SAT as soon as possible so you have many more chances to enhance your score if you do poor the first time and so on. Tell your mother to be concerned about the FAFSA when you become a Senior. Your or your parent's can fill out the FAFSA as early as January 1st once you all have filed taxes for the current year. For example ... you should be a senior in August 2009 so once your parent's file their 2010 taxes then they need to fill out the FAFSA.

Question: I made a big mistake on my fafsa. Deadline is tonight.?
I left out the fact that mother gets child support. the school is having eighty percent of students verfiy their fafsas so, I filled something out to give them thats look like the back of the fafsa worksheet, worksheet A, B, and C. Now I realized the mistake I made. Do I go back and change it. I can not afford school without the aid.

Answer: You should go back and change it. You can change it right ...
You should go back and change it. You can change it right on their website under "make changes to a submitted fafsa."

Answer: You are going to have to make corrections. This is going to ...
You are going to have to make corrections. This is going to flag your fafsa for verification regardless of what the school does. That said, if you and your mother have both signed the FAFSA with your PIN numbers, you'll have to wait 72 hours for it to process before you can actually get back into it and make those corrections. Good Luck.
