Question: What do I do next when I finished my application for fafsa?
Answer: Contact your college tomorrow and ask what else you need to ...
Contact your college tomorrow and ask what else you need to fill out for them to get an award letter sent to you. Often they will have MORE forms for you to fill out. If you have not turned in an admission application at your school you need to so so.
Answer: If you supplied your school code on your fafsa form then you ...
If you supplied your school code on your fafsa form then you usually don't have to do anything. The school will contact you if you have to be audited or if there is anything additional. They will also contact you with your award amount.
If you don't hear anything by the end of July though then you need to contact your school's financial aid office. Usually it only takes 2-3 weeks for your school to process the FAFSA and enter an award amount, so anything more than that can be a red flag that something is wrong. (you would be suprised at how incompetent some school's fin aid's offices are).
Question: FAFSA??? Help me. I'm incompetent?
When is the deadline for filing FAFSA for the 2008-2009 school year? Did it already pass? I know I'm kind of late.. since people started filing theirs around January 1st. Should I not even bother completing one? Or.. are grants, etc. still given out at this time of year? I'm going to be a freshman in college come fall.. and parents' combined income exceeds $100,000.. will I still get money from this FAFSA?

well, you've sure come to the right place. since you seem to be under the gun (if you will) to meet a deadline, wouldn't it be more effective to contact the financial aid office?
Answer: Yeah, I'm pretty sure the deadline has already passed. ...
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the deadline has already passed. At school, U of M, the deadline for turning it in was May 30. I really think it is all according to your school's deadline, so check that out as well as FAFSA's website. It is mid-summer though, so you may be too late for your school but CHECK! And even high income earners can get some aid...so just check your school's financial aid website. Good luck!

The FAFSA deadline has passed. You might try the website, www.fafsa.gov, to see what your options are. Good luck.
Answer: You should look on the FAFSA website. I think the deadline ...
You should look on the FAFSA website. I think the deadline is around July, but the deadline for schools differs depending on the school...so you should visit your school's financial office to get the deadlines.
Answer: The federal deadline is not until June 30, 2009. However, ...
The federal deadline is not until June 30, 2009. However, your school has their own priority deadline as to when you need to complete the FAFSA along with paperwork for their office. This deadline just means, unless it is in their office, complete for them to verify then they cannot guarantee you will have your money before or on school. You will probably have to make payment arrangements on your tuition, fees & books unless there is some type of deferment your financial aid office offers which can defer your tuition & fees, but you will still be responsible for your books.
Question: A FAFSA question?
I was planning on getting a second bachelor's. So when I completed online FAFSA, I completed it as getting a second bachelor's. I have now decided to go to graduate school. Can I change that information?

yes just go to your fafsa online. go to the correct fafsa. enter the info requested, pick this years corrected fafsa option. then look for the part that you want to fix. when done submit. it will update it.
depends on what school you want to send it to. because the school you send it to makes the difference, since they are the ones who will use it.
good luck
Question: What is EFC in FAFSA?
Hi, I just turned in everything for FAFSA. My parents W2, 1040's, etc. It is being processed now. My question is, they corrected EFC to 865. Do you think I'll be able to get any help if family's EFC is 865? It is the expected income right? Thanks, sorry I'm a first time college student and confused with all this.
Answer: Kristie: The EFC is "expected family contribution" or in ...
The EFC is "expected family contribution" or in other words, the amount of money your family can reasonably contribute to your tuition and fees. In other words, with your EFC, you will probably get a pretty decent financial aide package. My EFC was around 1500, or so, and I have a full ride at the school I go to. Granted, I was also a straight A student, third in class, first generation college student, and had a million extra-curriculars. Your package will depend greatly on the school you are attending as well. I go to a private university so they have more funds available than some other schools. Depending on the school you go to, you financial aide could be greater or lesser.
Answer: EFC is your "expected family contribution." This ...
EFC is your "expected family contribution." This means FAFSA feels (based on the information on your FAFSA) that you and your family can afford to contribute $865 towards the cost of your education. Your school will compare your EFC to the estimated Cost of Attendance(COA) for your to attend college. For instance, if the COA at your school is $10,000 for one year, and your EFC is 865, you have a need of $9135 and your school will work to put together a financial aid package consisting of grants, scholarships, loans and/or work study that covers your need.
With and EFC os 865, you will be eligible for a PELL grant of about $3500 for the year (split in half for each semester) You will also be eligible for a Federal Stafford Loan. You may also be eligible for other state or Federal grants, you will have to ask your financial aid office.
It is always best to talk with your financial aid office, so they can explain all of your options to you.
Good luck

Answer: The second answerer is right. Your parents would have added ...
The second answerer is right. Your parents would have added their incomes together in order to file taxes as a married couple. They should have the information you need, since their employers send each of them a list, called a w-2, that says exactly what each of them earned last year. Call the parents, and I bet they'll have the information.
