Question: Financial aid school question?
ok, im actually applying to a private high school next year. family has a pretty low income. im afraid that it is actually very low. Is it possible for the income to be so low, that the school won't help me with enough financial aid, and consequently won't be accepted?

Answer: No, your income can't be that low, although they may not ...
No, your income can't be that low, although they may not give you complete financial aid and may ask that you take out loans.

Answer: Yes, it is possible they won't give you any or enough ...
Yes, it is possible they won't give you any or enough financial aid to go to a private high school. You sometimes can look on the schools site for an "average" financial aid award to see if you even have a chance. Also remember that not all "financial aid" is free money. Some financial aid is in the form of loans which must be paid back. If your parents start balking, it's probably because they can't afford the payments to get your school paid off before you have to go back again or go off to college. Good luck

Question: I lost my financial aid, What should I do?
due to what they say is the second credit earning offense, college has taken away financial aid. I only have one more smester left, but father jsut paid the tuition, more than 5000$, and it says there is still 3750$ left to pay. this happened because last semester I did not earn 12 credits, but only 11. 12th credit was an internship, which I was unable to find. so I took an incomplete. the registrar said it wont count against financial aid, but apparnetly it has. I think its so unfair because of the 11 credit I did earn, I got a 4.0. first ever. and here they are talking aobut academic failure. I ask you! i'm scared to appeal it though because one of the scholarships they've takena way is a language scharship, for languages I havnet studied in 3 or more semesters. is it possible that they would notice this upon careful evaluation and say I owe them back money for language scholsrhip? should I appeal or not? what woudl you do ? ok so i'm distraght and some of you have hte gall to complain aobut spelling? I ask you!!!!!!!

Answer: I am not sure they can take back that money. I think it ...
I am not sure they can take back that money. I think it would be best to speak to an advisor. However, with the internship idea. I think there is no reason to appeal because they will say you had an entire semester to find one. You should speak to an advisor and see if there is anyway that you can find one do the internship and get the grade for the class or speak to a school rep.

Answer: Ask councelors what your opptionas are.
Ask councelors what your opptionas are.

Answer: One they can't take back money that has already been ...
One they can't take back money that has already been spent. If you don't want to dispute it you can apply for an alternative education loan. Key Bank is very good.

Answer: Seriously, who are you? You're not really a college ...
Seriously, who are you? You're not really a college student, right? I'm looking at the misspellings and the punctuation and grammar errors, and trying to picture the person who's typing. I see a sixth grader pretending to be a grown up. IF YOU REALLY ARE in college and really did manage to get your financial aid jerked because you didn't live up to the terms of the financial aid, you'd do well to appeal the decision. Several thousand dollars is a pretty hefty fine for "not being able to find an internship". (Did you ask more than one person?) Presenting your 4.0 grades as evidence that the college would do well to back you up is the smart move. C'mon - this is your life we're talking about here. Go ahead and get the education. You can be a slacker later.

Answer: stop making excuses, get a job and pay your 3750.00 to ...
stop making excuses, get a job and pay your 3750.00 to finish this semester. take a remedial English course in spelling and grammar.

Answer: I don't believe that they can take the money away from ...
I don't believe that they can take the money away from you. As long as you have a 4.0 average you are well above passing. I would talk to a financial aid counselor and find out because I know that most aid requires you to carry at least 12 credits for full-time, but I do think that they have some type of part-time aid as well. I would write a letter and explain exactly what happened and see what happens from there. You may have to fight for it, but you might win.

Question: I did not register with selective service and am now 26 and connot receive financial aid any help or tips.?

Answer: My best advice is to register now with the Selective ...
My best advice is to register now with the Selective Service! So, you can receive Financial Aid!

Answer: You're not required to register past age 25. This ...
You're not required to register past age 25. This shouldn't affect your financial aid. Either you made a mistake on the FAFSA - in which case you should see your financial aid people, or you've been denied for some other reason. EDIT: In light of some other comments, I revisited the FAFSA online. The relevant question reads: "If you are a male between the ages of 18 - 25 and NOT already registered with Selective Service, answer "yes" and Selective Service will register you. I suspect you checked "yes" when the proper answer for you would be "no". Then when the student aid people tried to register you with SSS, they responded no. Had you checked "no" this issue would never have arisen.

Answer: look for scholorships... you gotta register for ...
look for scholorships... you gotta register for it... seems kinda stupid, the only way you get $$ for education is by signing up for war....but yet you pay for someone else's education through taxes...but ur not eligible cuz you didn't sign up for the selective service... who was the dumbass who came up with that idea?

Answer: Thats kinda bad you have to register for selective service ...
Thats kinda bad you have to register for selective service it is in case a draft happens again. When your 18 you are legally obliged to sign up. I dunno why it is a part of financial aid so for the sake of you freedom from jail and freedom from paying for school you sign up now the site is sss.gov. To be exact 5 years in prison and 250000 dollar fine https://www.sss.gov/FSbenefits.htm also check this out it may help you alot https://www.sss.gov/FSmen.htm since you can't register when you're 26 this might help you not be in jail if anything else comes up emial me of check te site faqs.

Answer: Sorry to say, but the first two answers are wrong. You can ...
Sorry to say, but the first two answers are wrong. You can not simply go register now that you have reached your 26th birthday and receive aid. Second, to say you do not have to now and to go ahead and apply is just wrong. Typically, if you have not registered before your 26th birthday you are SOL. But...if there is a good reason why you did not (simply not wanting to or in defiance of the law will not cut it) then you can appeal the agency's (the school in your case) decision if you can "show by a preponderance of evidence" that his failure to register was not knowing and willful. Give it a shot...you probably will not succeed, but there at least is a chance.

Question: Financial Aid Question?
Okay Im filling out the fafsa and theres a question Im not sure about. It asks me mother and father's highest school completed, but the thing is both parents are immigrants and although they did go to college in another country they came to the united states and were forced to work other jobs not associated with the professions they studied. What should I put as highest level of schooling completed?

Answer: If they actually completed their college, then select that ...
If they actually completed their college, then select that option. If they only started college, but never finished, choose the 'some college' or high school option. Dont lie to fafsa. They will find out. LOL

Answer: I agree with the other answer. You have to be completely ...
I agree with the other answer. You have to be completely honest---college is college, whether in the US or not.

Question: Reimbursed Financial aid?
Does anyone know if you can get reimbursed for financial aid. Thing is Im applying alittle late for financial aid and college starts on the 14th, we are racking up the money to pay for this semester but (and hopefully when!) financial aid comes in can we use that money for a reimbursement?? thanks!

Answer: If I understand your question, you are going to pay your ...
If I understand your question, you are going to pay your tuition bill out of your pocket, and than (hopefully) be awarded financial aid? If this is what you are saying, than yes, whatever financial aid you are awarded will be applied to your account. Anything left over will be paid to you. Therefore, if your account balance is zero, you will be paid your full financial aid award.

Question: am I eligible for financial aid?
I am 26yrs old and i'm planning on attending college to get associate degree, I am a stay at home mom with one child, I stay with mom who works but boyfriend supports me but we don't live together, so filling out the fafsa application do I have to put income on there since I haven't worked at all in 2007. do you think I will be qualify for full financial aid ?

Answer: Hi, When filling out the FAFSA you put the information ...
Hi, When filling out the FAFSA you put the information regarding income from your tax forms. If you didn't work in 2007, then you will not have any income to list. Plus if your a single parent, you should qualify for grants and loans. Good Luck!

Answer: You will qualify for Financial Aid. When filling out the ...
You will qualify for Financial Aid. When filling out the FAFSA , you put down YOUR income - no one elses, you're independent and a single mother. I'm not sue about full financial aid but you'll qualify for grants.

Question: College Financial aid?
I recently got accepted into seton hall university. while checking collegeboard I saw that their average aid package is about $16,000.do they include scholarships in that total or just aid given by the college.I was wondering cause I got a $12,000 scholarship per year and was wondering if I can add $16,000 to that for 28,000 in aid or if they will jsut give me about $4000 more.

Answer: The 16,000 is just an "average" financial aid ...
The 16,000 is just an "average" financial aid package which would include a wide range of awards (from zero to 37K) and would include scholarships, loans, grants, work study, and other money. All that money is added up and then divided by the total number of students. If your scholarship is 12,000, then you would probably be offered loans, parent loans, and grants and work study if your family's income is low enough. I'm thinking you would prob be offered about 3,500 more in loans and your parents would be offered a lot more depending on how much the school is. Here is a good book about loans scholarships, grants and work study. good luck Edit - I just looked at this school and realize this is a private school, so your tuition is VERY high. A 12k scholarship isn't really very good if you still have to borrow 25K a year to go. That's a100,000 debt, 1000 a month payment after you graduate. You need to realize you can go to a community college for about 3,000 a year. Work for a 3,000 scholarship at a community college.

Question: How many years can a student receive financial aid?

Answer: Depends on what plan/scholarship/grant you look at.
Depends on what plan/scholarship/grant you look at.
