Interesting, because I wanted to transfer mine to California too! I'm not sure, because I think everyone's independent status and need differs from state to state. We should both go talk to financial aid....
Answer: Pell Grant are Federal Government grants that are determined ...
Pell Grant are Federal Government grants that are determined based on your FAFSA results. It is based solely on need and the institution which you are attending has no control or affect on the Pell.
Pell Grants are not attached to the school you are attending. If you are receiving Pell Grants now and no major financial circumstances have changed, you should still receive them when you file for financial aid at your new school.

Answer: Pell does not transfer. You can only have aid at one school ...
Pell does not transfer. You can only have aid at one school at a time. You can have aid at two different schools in an academic year, but only at one per semester. If you are transferring, you need to cancel your aid at the current school before you start at the new one. You can apply to multiple schools at a time as long as you don't accept aid in more than one place. Talk to your new school and make sure to get the FAFSA date transferred to the new school before you talk to them so that they know what information that they need from you.
Question: Am I supposed to get a separate letter specifically from the Federal Pell Grant Program?
FYI: Current high school senior (I'm so confused about financial aid right now).
I submitted FAFSA application on March 2. I qualify but have not yet recieved a letter. I have been rewarded a Cal Grant (A/B).
Answer: No, they dont send you a letter.
No, they dont send you a letter
I found out that I qualified for Pell Grant when the school that I applied to (and wrote in FAFSA) sent me a financial aid package.
and there it was, Pell Grant. I think I have about $2000
Answer: There will not be a letter from FAFSA. The only thing that ...
There will not be a letter from FAFSA. The only thing that they send you is your Student Aid Report. It is up to the school that you are applying for aid to send you an award letter. Call the school FA office and they can explain things a bit better. The school that I work for does not deal with that grant so I can't really tell you anything about it. I hope that helped a bit. Let me know if you have any other questions, I'll see if I can help.
Question: There are differing views on the net. Are Pell grants really given to non-citizens?
Answer: Yes, it is possible. You must be a US citizen or eligible ...
Yes, it is possible. You must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen to receive a Pell Grant. Eligible non-citizen is defined on the FAFSA website:
http://www.studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/aideligibility.jsp?tab=funding
Hope that helps.
Question: I have submitted a FAFSA, when do I receive my Pell Grant?
I qualified for cal grant and got a letter saying so. But I have yet to receive anything about the Pell Grant. Does it just come later or something? or do I have to do something else to get it?
You should receive a financial aid award letter from the colleges that you listed on your FAFSA and that you've been admitted to. If you are eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant, they will list it on your award letter. After you've completed your financial aid file and actually enrolled in your school of choice, your Pell Grant should be applied to your tuition account to help cover your charges.
Good Luck!
Question: Pell Grant & FSEOG??
is a pell grant and fseog two different things. so if I get a pell grant can I get a fseog grant also?? and does the amount of pell grant determine hoe much fseog I recieve??
Answer: financial aid Expert: The Pell Grant is administered by the Department of ...
The Pell Grant is administered by the Department of Education and they determine how much you will get.
The FSEOG (Supplemental Grant) is a grant given by the Department of Education but the school you are attending is who "administers" and "determines" who gets the grant and how much so you would have to ask your school what their criteria is (their selection process).
