Basically, your loans are your loans to do with what you please. But, you have to go through the proper steps to get them. If you are going through your college financial aid office, you will have to apply for federal aid using fafsa.ed.gov first, in the application you have a box you can check if you want loans. You need to speak with the school's financial aid office you are going to directly and do it now. It is best that you get the paperwork in soon. Anyhow, you can spend your student loan money on anything you want. The amounts are disbursed twice in the semester...but not given before.Answer: Tuition loans don't cover every day college expenses ...

I have not even begun to pay it off either and I have no idea how I will because I barely make enough money to live off of. I still live with parents by the way. Anyways, I really want to attend the Berklee School of Music in Boston but it is expensive. My question is that since I have not paid off other loan will I be able to get a loan to go to Berklee? I don't care if it is high interest. Basically, what are options and how can I make this happen? My dream is to attend berklee in boston, I can't imagine doing anything else at this point. If you've heard rumors about the feds hunting people down and tossing them in jail for old student debts, you might be interested in making sure all your old loans are in good standing. While it's not true that armed police will haul you off to jail, you can still get in a lot of financial trouble for not repaying your student loans. Go to the following websites. You should find some helpful info on them. I've also left you a link for Berklee so that you can review their admissions policies and get the info needed to get in contact with the FA director and see if they can point you in the right direction as far as grants and such. Good Luck!!!!
